GER Die Songs von What Is A Human thematisieren die uns allen innewohnende Spannung zwischen der inneren und äußeren Orientierung des Bewusstseins. Die Songs versuchen, den Menschen dazu zu ermutigen, sich trotz des Unbehagens, das diese Beziehung umgibt, in das Unbekannte des Lebens zu begeben, mit einer manchmal zynischen Sicht auf unser unvermeidbares Scheitern. Die Band entstand rund um den Musiker Felician Erlenburg in Den Haag. Interessant ist die Instrumentierung mit zwei Synths (Tymon Kolubinski und Gregor Connelly). Goncalo Oliveira spielt Bass, Leo Bird Giger Drums, und Felician Erlenburg tritt als Sänger und Gitarrist auf. Das Album What Is A Human wird im Juli 2024 digital erscheinen und ab September auch auf Vinyl erhältlich sein - dafür kann man sich auch schon vorher anmelden. Die Songs, die in den letzten drei Jahren entstanden, sind stilistisch eklektisch und man sollte sich besser selbst ein Label ausdenken; einen Einfluss durch New Wave, Synth Pop und die Ästhetik einiger Aufnahmen freier Improvisation der 70er Jahre kann man wohl nicht leugnen.
EN The songs of What Is A Human address the inherent tension in all of us that is created between the inner and outer orientation of consciousness. The songs try to encourage us to enter the unknown of life, despite the discomfort that surrounds this polarity, with a sometimes cynical view of our inevitable failure. The band was formed around the musician Felician Erlenburg in The Hague. The instrumentation is unusual, with two synths (Tymon Kolubinski and Gregor Connelly). Goncalo Oliveira plays bass, Leo Bird Giger plays the drums and Felician Erlenburg performs as singer and guitarist.
The album What Is A Human will be released digitally in July 2024 and will be available on vinyl in August - sign-up is possible already! The songs, which have been created over the
last three years, are stylistically eclectic and one better comes up with one’s own label; an influence of New Wave, Indie Rock, Synth Pop and the aesthetics of some free improvisation recordings of the 70s cannot be denied however.
