Mit ihrer Soundvielfalt, die von Alternative, Crossover, Progressive bis hin zu Postrock reicht, versucht Ultima Radio, die Grenzen typischer Genres zu überwinden und ihren ganz eigenen Stil zu finden. Nachdem sie ihre Vielseitigkeit auf ihrem Debütalbum „A Thousand Shapes“ erfolgreich unter Beweis gestellt hatten, präsentierten sie auf ihrem zweiten Album „Dusk City“ einen deutlich konsistenteren Sound. Das dritte Album der Band, „Sleep Panic Repeat“, das während der COVID-19-Pandemie entstand, erweiterte diesen Sound um ein weiteres düsteres und kraftvolles Stück Musik. Nun ist die Band zurück und sticht mit ihrer „Basement Session EP“ in See, auf der ihr neuer Frontmann Daniel Dorninger von der österreichischen Band Witchrider zu hören ist.

With their variety of sounds, ranging from Alternative, Crossover, Progressive to Post Rock, Ultima Radio are trying to overcome the limits of typical genres, intending to find their very own style. After a successful demonstration of their potential versatility on their debut-album “A Thousand Shapes”, they presented a much more consistent sound on their second album “Dusk City”. The band’s third album “Sleep Panic Repeat”, which came to life during the COVID-19 pandemic, expanded that sound with another dark and powerful piece of music. Now, the band has returned and set sail with their “Basement Session EP”, which features their new front man Daniel Dorninger from the Austrian band Witchrider.

Lilac Vegetal bewegen sich an den Rändern der Rockmusik und bemühen sich durch Ausschläge in alle Richtungen um die Auslotung von Dichte und Minimalismus, Reibung und Konsonanz, Improvisation und Struktur. Das Spiel zwischen Düsternis und Leichtigkeit erschafft den massiven und mysteriösen Sound, der diese Band so fesselnd macht.

The three piece Lilac Vegetal move at the outer edges of rock music, striving to explore density and minimalism, friction and consonance, improvisation and structure through deflections in all directions. The skillful interplay between gloom and lightness creates something massive and mysterious that makes this band so very absorbing.
